During hot summer days when air conditioners are running at their maximum, the demand for electricity is the highest. We refer to these times as peak demand. Peak demand is also when the price of electricity is the highest.

If you have a central air conditioner (CAC), you can do your part to help the province manage this peak demand by signing up for our Peaksaver™ program*. This allows your CAC to be adjusted during times of peak demand. The adjustment will only occur during weekdays (never on weekends or holidays), usually between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. And, you can always opt out.
